We are a square dance club from San Diego, CA, and we dance at the Recital Hall in Balboa Park.

Square dancing is a great activity that is enjoyed all over the world! There are many reasons why people are attracted to the square dancing activity. They include:

Strong Social Connections!
- The nature of our activity is that we dance together in groups of eight people who need to cooperate to get through the dance. This atmosphere creates the possibility of developing strong social bonds between the dancers. Many dancers have formed life-long friendships with others from the activity.
- The foundation of our activity is the square dance club. We get together for activities related to square dancing and also not related to square dancing. It is truly a "family of choice" for many!
- Square dancing provides a low-impact aerobic workout. To be sure, you will be briskly walking/shuffling through a few miles in an evening of dancing!
- The Modern Western form of square dancing provides for more interaction between the leader (caller) and the dancers. Dancers respond to constantly changing patterns set up by the caller. The degree of difficulty in the dance is set so that the dancers have the feeling of surprise, without getting too difficult or stressful.
- Square dancing uses no special footwork, simply walking or shuffling to the beat of the music.
- Many people who have difficulty with other forms of dancing have little difficulty with square dancing. Don't worry about having "two left feet" with this form of dancing!
- We use music from a variety of genres.

Club Night -- Dancing on Thursdays
Dancing at the Recital Hall, Pan American Road West, San Diego, CA.
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm -- New dancer class in progress! Class started in early October 2024. People who began their class on or before this time are welcome to join us!
8:00 pm - 9:30 pm -- Club Dance. Floor level, ranging from SSD to Plus. Party night on the second Thursday most months.
